5 Recommendations for children!
1.) Hohensalzburg Fortress:
The first thing I recommend, even for children, is a visit to Hohensalzburg Fortress.
There, children, but of course adults too 😊, can take themselves back to the exciting times of the Middle Ages and in the “Arsenal” armory there are interactive ways to experience the Middle Ages.
At Hohensalzburg Fortress there is also an exhibition on the Salzburg Marionette Theater, which can be exciting for children.
The wonderful views of the city of Salzburg from Hohensalzburg Fortress and the special atmosphere of the fortress make for unforgettable memories for both children and adults!
You can reach the fortress from the apartment either on foot (only if you want to be sporty) in 15 minutes or by train whose valley station is 4 minutes away from the apartment.

The Toy Museum invites you into a world of play.
The focus is on experiencing and trying things out, with lots of toys for the children to play with!

4.) House of Nature “Haus der Natur” Salzburg:
Dinosaurs (which fortunately are no longer alive 😊), live fish from all over the world, reptiles and you can discover the whole universe, also with many interactive possibilities, await you in the Haus der Natur!

5.) Hellbrunn Palace with zoo:
Hellbrunn Palace, built in the Mannerist style, with a large park containing large ponds with carp and sturgeon as well as a playground, is definitely worth a short trip.
The famous pavilion from the legendary film “The Sound of Music” is also located in the palace park!
For children, a visit to the zoo, which is part of the castle grounds, with a petting zoo and animals from all over the world, which you can get very close to in the tropical house, for example, is a special highlight all year round!
In the warmer months, a visit to the castle's “trick fountains” is something not to be missed!
The perfectly preserved trick fountains at Hellbrunn Palace are an absolute rarity from the Mannerist period and also offer young and old a surprising way to cool off 😊!

These are some activities in Salzburg that are particularly suitable for children and none of the recommended activities should leave their adult companions bored! 😊
From my childhood experience in Salzburg's old town, I can also recommend walks across the city mountains (Mönchsberg, Festungsberg, Nonnberg and Kapuzinerberg).
There are not only wonderful views of the city of Salzburg, but also many exciting discoveries around every corner and behind every tree! 😊
Best wishes,
Felix 😊
